Canadian Association for Young Children

Canadian Association of Family Resource Programs

Canadian Child Care Federation
The CCCF is a bilingual, non-profit, member based organization committed to excellence in early learning and child care through partnerships, projects and resources.
Child Care Advocacy Association of Canada
The CCAAC is a non-profit, membership based organization dedicated to promoting quality, publicly funded child care accessible to all.
Child Care Human Resources Sector Council
The CCSC is dedicated to moving forward on the human resource issues in child care to develop a confident, skilled and respected workforce valued for its contribution to early childhood care and education.
Childcare Resource and Research Unit.
The CRRU focuses on research and policy resources, advancing a universal, high quality, publicly-funded, not-for-profit, inclusive system of early childhood education and care in Canada.
Code Blue for Child Care
Code Blue is a Canada-wide campaign to build a real pan-Canadian child care system. The campaign brings together national, provincial and territorial child care organizations, labour, women's and social justice groups along with Canadians from all walks of life.

BC Aboriginal Child Care Society
The BC Aboriginal Child Care Society is a provincial organization serving Aboriginal early childhood programs throughout British Columbia.
BC Association of Family Resource Programs
The FRP of BC supports community based family resource programs in BC to foster the healthy development of children within the context of the family.
BC Family Child Care Association of BC
A professional organization of family child care providers that believes in accessible, quality, inclusive child care services that support the needs of children, families and child care providers. Our goal is to promote, support and advocate for quality, inclusive family child care.
Child Care Advocacy Forum
The Forum is an alliance of six provincial child care organizations that brings together over 4000 individuals, groups and child care providers in BC. While continuing to work on their own organizational priorities, the member organizations of the Forum work together to advance a Common Vision and Agenda for Child Care in BC.
Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC
The CCCABC is a voluntary organization working to promote the development of a comprehensive, accessible and affordable non-profit child care system in BC and across Canada.
Council of Parent Participation Preschools in BC
The CPPP in BC unites and assists member preschools in providing a high standard of preschool education involving both parents and teachers.
Early Childhood Educators of BC
ECEBC is the professional association for early childhood educators in BC, providing professional development, publications promoting high standards of practice and related resources.
First Call (BC Child & Youth Advocacy Coalition)
First Call is a coalition of organizations and community groups and individuals who believe that children and youth need first call on society’s resources.
  Provincial Child Care Council
The Provincial Child Care Council, representing a wide range of child care sectors across the province, advises the Minister Responsible for child care on policies and programs that affect the quality, stability and affordability of child care in BC.
School Age Child Care Association of B.C. (SACCA)
A province wide, nonprofit organization open to both professionals and students working or studying in the school age child care field. Our goal is to improve the availability of quality, affordable school age child care by providing programs and services to professionals in this field.
  Society for Children and Youth of BC
The Society for Children and Youth of BC (SCY) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the well-being of all children and youth in British Columbia.
Vancouver Island Cooperative Preschool Association (VICPA)
VICPA members include 14 parent participation preschools on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. The VICPA is an advocate for high quality early childhood education for children and professional standards for adults who work with them.

Provincial Government

Ministry for Children and Family Development (MCFD)
MCFD holds responsibility for the government's child care programs and services including the Child Care Grants and policy development relating to child care in BC. This site has links to related child care resources the government has responsibility for.
  Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) - Children with Special Needs
Raising a child or youth with special needs brings joys and challenges. In order to assist and support families and children and youth with special needs from birth up to age 19, the Ministry of Children and Family Development offers a range of services.
  Child Care Subsidy
The Child Care Subsidy is a monthly payment that helps British Columbia families meet the costs of child care. A calculation that takes into account your income and family size determines eligibility.
  The Community Care Licensing Branch
The Community Care Licensing Branch is part of the Population and Public Health Division of the Ministry of Healthy Living and Sport, and is responsible for the development and implementation of legislation, policy, and guidelines to protect the health and safety of people being cared for in licensed facilities.
