Upcoming workshops:
Designing with Nature - March/April 2012
All About Wire - April-May 2012
The Journey of the Westcoast Curriculum Room began in May of 2010.
Its purpose is to present images, ideas, and reflections to reinforce notions of high quality practice in early childhood programs for early childhood educators, child care providers and families.
The Curriculum Room space evolves from month to month, covering a wide range of project themes that could be introduced and explored in an early childhood program’s own context.
Some of the themes we have uncovered in the Curriculum Room so far include:
- Emergent Literacy
- Inquiry into Science
- Art: Are Black and White Colours?
- Felt: Shapes and Forms.

The photos in our slide show showcase some of the key elements of our representation of each of these topics. These photos also tell another story – the story behind the concepts of the materials that were used and how they speak to the early childhood environment.
We hope these photos will engage you and invite you to explore our projects more in depth, with us or in your own early childhood setting. |
