| Literacy Development through Cultural Teaching: Aboriginal Activities Make & Take |
Children’s achievements depend on investments made in their early years. Come and explore ways to encourage young children’s literacy skills through a variety of aboriginal culturally supportive activities. The activities in this workshop are intended for use as a springboard for adaptation to fit the needs of children from the communities we serve. Participants will leave the workshop with templates and patterns to use in their own programs.
Maximum number of participants is 20.
Bring scissors that can cut neatly through felt and a black narrow tip indelible marker. |

Nora Mejia, B.Ed. & E.C.E. Nora’s work in ECE is inspired by the principles of the Reggio Emilia approach as well as Montessori Training. She works for Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre as a Diversity Trainer. She has been enjoying working with children and their families for over 20 years in a variety of settings. |
