| Guidance and Preschoolers: Revisiting the Fundamentals |
The foundation for helping to guide children in positive ways is through establishing trustful relationships with a child and his/her family, no matter what a child’s special needs or circumstances are. This workshop reflects a “back to basics” approach to guidance during the early years. Through meaningful discussions and problem solving activities, participants will share ideas, strategies and techniques that can be used to help support children and the adults who care for them.
Maximum number of participants is 30. |

Claude Painter has taught children who required extra supports for approximately 20 years in both specialized and inclusive agencies. She has been at Langara College for 19 years teaching in the ECE Diploma Program and the ECE Special Education Citation Program. She has also served both as a coordinator and as the chair of Langara's Early Childhood Education Department, and as co-chair of the Provincial Post-Secondary ECE Articulation Committee and continues to serve on numerous other committees both at Langara and for philanthropic groups in the community. |
