Teacher Talk A – Encouraging Language Development in Early Childhood Settings (7 hours training) |
Teacher Talk is a highly acclaimed approach from the Hanen Centre. The Hanen Centre is known around the world for its ability to lead and innovate by providing training and support materials for parents and teachers. In this day-long course we will discuss how to foster language development through daily interactions and learn how to:
- Identify the children's conversational styles and the role teachers play in interactions.
- Use strategies to encourage language development in individual and group interactions.
- Help children become better conversation partners.
- Follow important steps to make sure that no child is left out of group activities
This course is designed for Early Childhood Educators. Each participant will receive a copy of the Teacher Talk workbook entitled Encouraging Language Development in Early Childhood Settings.
Teacher Talk Training A is the prerequisite course to further Teacher Talk training.
Maximum participants: 25
Participants need to bring a bag lunch (no microwave use pls) |

Kelly Kovach is a Speech Language Pathologist for Vancouver Coastal Health working as a Speech Language Pathologist with the preschool population since 1997. She was initially trained in the It Takes Two To Talk Hanen Program in 1998 and completed Learning Language and Loving It training in 2007. |
