| A is for Anaphylaxis and Allergies |
This workshop will provide you with information about the causes of allergies and anaphylaxis, the typical triggers, signs and symptoms, and the required emergency response, as well as how to live successfully with food allergies. Each participant will be provided with age appropriate resources for children and their families, how to set policies in your centre and a Protect-A-Life Hero Award in appreciation. Participants will also learn how to use epinephrine auto-injectors by using an auto-injector trainer.

Pam Lee has a 14-year-old son with a life threatening allergy. Pam was co-founder of PACT, Protect A Child Today, a grassroots movement that led the government to create a Ministerial Order to protect kids with anaphylaxis in Schools in 2007. She sits on the Provincial Anaphylaxis Committee. She is the Associate Editor of Allergic Living magazine. Her column, The Allergic Diva, is a light-hearted look at living with allergies. Pam volunteers with Anaphylaxis Canada, and sits on the AC BC Committee. Pam ran a Licensed Family Child Care while her children were small and presently works for the VSB as a Special Education Assistant.
