Additional Qualifications:


  1. Education: Diploma in a related field.
  2. Minimum 3 years of program coordination or related experience.
  3. Current knowledge of child care, child development and family support issues, trends and practice.
  4. Understanding of the principles of adult education and curriculum development and experience of designing and delivering professional development for adults.
  5. Comprehensive Technical knowledge:
  • Microsoft Office and Google Suite technologies
  • Competent use of audio-visual equipment
  • Social Media competency
  • Ability to adapt to a variety of organizational systems and databases
  1. Proven effectiveness and successful experience in organizational, communication, supervisory and leadership roles with a staff team.
  2. Demonstrated ability to deal tactfully and effectively with the public and maintain positive community relations.
  3. Effective English written and oral communication/presentation skills; additional language competencies an asset.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative and manage time effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

We invite expressions of interest for the Outreach Professional Development Coordinator position. This position is responsible for the development and expansion of community professional development opportunities for Early Childhood Professionals in Vancouver. This position reports to the Manager of Programs.


  1. Facilitate and deliver key professional development opportunities for Early Childhood Professionals in the community:
  • Plan, develop and lead workshops in the community for early learning professionals in consultation with supervisor.
  • Host and facilitate professional development events that take place after regular hours/ offsite.
  • Develop and coordinate the outreach training calendar; including scheduling locations, facilitators and dates.
  • Identify and develop relationships with facilitators to provide relevant and diverse professional development opportunities in the community.
  • Respond to additional professional development requests made through our ‘workshops by request’ program.
  1. Align community professional development outreach annual planning with the agency’s overall vision, mission and values.
  2. Support reporting requirements by providing data and statistics as required.
  3. Build effective links with relevant organizations in the child care, child development, family support and broader social service sector and provide professional development in a variety of community settings around Vancouver.
  4. Maintain knowledge of the agency to represent the program and Westcoast in the child care and broader communities.

Salary & Benefits:

Grid Level 14 ($25.54 - $29.73 per hour)

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.
  • Willing to participate in internal agency committees as required or requested.
  • Must have access to a vehicle and hold a valid Class 5 drivers license.
  • Requires evening and weekend hours, while staying within the weekly employment hours.
  • Requires off-site and remote working.
