ECE Professional Development Bursary Fund

The Year 2 Report for the ECE Professional Development Bursary Fund has now been published!

This report illustrates how the ECE Professional Development Bursary Program (BursaryProgram) supported capacity building and improved access for early childhood educators toengage in ongoing professional development throughout British Columbia from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023. In Year 2 of this phase of operations, the Bursary Program supported 4,855 educators to participate in ongoing training for free or at a significantly lower cost.

The Province is providing direct funding to child care providers to cut child care fees again, this time by as much as $550 each month, starting on December 1, 2022. 

The Province is providing direct funding to child care providers to cut child care fees again, this time by as much as $550 each month, starting on December 1, 2022.

Families don’t have to take any action to see these new savings, they will be automatically applied to their child care bills each month for each child kindergarten aged and younger in a participating licensed child care centre.

In 2019, Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre (WCCRC) developed an Administration & Management for Child Care (AMCC) training program for early childhoodeducators (ECEs). This initiative was funded through the Canada-British Columbia Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia.
