Program Lead Early Childhood Educator

Additional Qualifications:

 

  • Current BC ECE License and First Aid 

  • Minimum 3 years experience working in a licensed childcare facility in a leadership role. 

  • Leads the staff team to plan, evaluate, and implement daily activities in line with MNH philosophy that support and promote the development of the whole child 

  • Knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework and CCLR 

  • Ability to provide reflective and emergent curriculum 

  • Strength in building and maintaining supportive and collaborative partnerships with families 

  • Passion for ongoing professional development and growth 

  • Ability to work in a multicultural and inclusive environment 

 

Required Experience:

 

You are passionate, creative and have an eagerness to work as part of a collaborative, supportive and dynamic team in a non-profit and volunteer-based organization. You are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, Te Whariki/New Zealand and the BC Early Learning Framework. Knowledge of evolving philosophies and pedagogies in early childhood care and education, current trends and policy and changing perspectives on working with young children. Strong planning, organizational, leadership and communication skills. You have a desire to help lead the way as part of an exciting new centre that will be inspiring, nurturing, and innovative.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

The Childcare Lead will be responsible for the leadership, supervision, and administration of their specific programs. Team Leads will have opportunities to work collaboratively together and with the child care coordinator and manager to explore and implement innovative programming. Ability to effectively supervise staff, volunteers and practicum students. The position requires the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, handle emergencies skillfully using discretion and confidentiality. 

Salary & Benefits:

$25.42 +$6 WE.

Marpole Neighbourhood House is a non-profit organization serving, and advocating for, the families and children in Vancouver. Marpole Neighbourhood House is operating a new 69 space childcare centre located in the Marpole Neighbourhood on the rooftop at DLG Elementary school. We are seeking a creative, caring and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to be a Room Lead in one of our 3-5 programs.
