School Age Care Support Educator

South Vancouver Neighbourhood House is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and experienced Support Educator to work collaboratively with a child requiring support in a licensed and inclusive school care program.  

Required Experience:

• Passion in working with children with varying abilities in an inclusive setting.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with school age children requiring support.
• ECE License to Practice or 20 hours or Responsible Adult Training or equivalent required.
• Special Needs ECE License to Practice or equivalent training and experience an asset.
• Valid First Aid, clear Criminal Record and immunization record upon hire required.
• Sound knowledge of child development and inclusive practice.
• Able to work in partnership with the families, consultants, and school team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Key Responsibilities:

• To be a part of a team that works with children ages 5-12 in a licensed school age care.
• To guide and support a child with special needs.
• To provide positive and effective guidance and supervision.
• To collaborate with the program team to plan, evaluate and implement inclusive programming that is reflective of the child’s interests and needs.
• To work in partnership with the program team and child’s family, consultant and school team in developing, evaluating and implementing the child’s care plan.

Salary & Benefits:

• Job Type: Regular part-time based on annual funding
• Start Date: July 21, 2025
• Monday to Friday, 2:00 to 6:00pm, 20hrs per week & 8 hours per day on professional and school breaks.
• Salary: $23.57-$25.25 depending on experience & qualifications. Plus $6 ECE Wage Enhancement for those who qualify.
