Early Childhood Educator
Additional Qualifications:
- Valid BC Basic Early Childhood Education Certificate required.
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.
- Knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework and the Reggio Emilia Approach.

- Strong guiding and caring skills
- Understanding of the BC Child Care Licensing Regulation.

Required Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in licensed childcare.
You are passionate, creative and have an eagerness to work as part of a collaborative, supportive and dynamic team in a non-profit and volunteer-based organization. You are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and the BC Early Learning Framework. You are knowledgeable of evolving philosophies and pedagogies in early childhood care and education, including risky play, decolonizing early childhood spaces and are up to date with current trends, policy and changing perspectives on work with young children. You have exceptional and respectful guiding and caring skills.
You are passionate about creating inclusive early learning spaces, believe children learn best through play and enjoy being outside with children in all weather, gardening and exploring the community. You have a desire to help co-create an exciting new centre that will be inspiring, nurturing, and innovative.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the general guidance of the Early Years Coordinator and Leads, the Early Childhood Educators provide responsive, caring and high quality programming inspired by the BC Early Learning Framework. Educators nurture strong relationships with the children, families and colleagues, and implement high standards of care and supervision that promote wellbeing of all children.
Salary & Benefits:
- Compensation: Band C2 $22.77- $23.57 per hour based on experience and qualifications, plus $6 Wage Enhancement.

Additional Notes:
- Regular full-time position -35 hours per week.
- Rotating shifts between 7am to 5:45pm Monday to Friday. 7 hours direct service, 1 hour unpaid break.
- This position works in person at MPNH Childcare at Eric Hamber Secondary.
- This position works some evenings and weekends.
