Additional Qualifications:
We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, professional, flexible, mature, dedicated, effective and organized person to join our daycare for children aged 3-5 years old. The successful candidate will have excellent guiding and caring capabilities , with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a diverse, multicultural, energetic, and inclusive environment
Qualifications
- ECE License to Practise, will consider a strong ECEA, as job may become permanent
- Familiarity with special education practices is a plus, particularly for working with children with disabilities.
- Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and co-workers positively and effectively
- Current Food Safe and Child Care First Aid necessary
- knowledge of Child Care Licensing Regulation, an asset
- Knowledge and/or completed BC ELF, an asset

- A passion for continual learning in partnership with children, families and colleagues
- ability to be very flexible and fluid-ability to think outside the box
- ability to be collaborative, cohesive, creative, supportive team member in a constantly changing environment
- Be self initiated and enthusiastic, with a strong sense of humour

Key Responsibilities:
- provide aged and developmental appropriate curriculum that takes into consideration children’s interest and abilities , in combination with a general theme
- collaborate with coworkers to share anecdotal observations and children’s interests, photographs, and be comfortable posting on our Instagram account
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and co-workers to build trust, strong relationships and respect with our Acorn community
- Observe and assess children's progress regularly, providing feedback to parents regarding their child's development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities that also accommodate children that needs extra support, ensuring all children can participate fully.
- use positive methods of discipline and guidance that our child centred and respectful
- encourage and build on the children’s self-help skills and resiliency, and promote proper eating, dressing and toileting habits
- ability to keep accurate records, attend staff meetings and attend training when necessary
Salary & Benefits:
Pay: CA$20.00-CA$24.89 per hour
The successful candidate will be paid for your full break(8 hours for a full time shift) and 4% vacation. We will also pay WE $6/hr to qualified candidates. We are a unionized centre and the position is open to all genders.
