AFTER SCHOOL PLAYGROUP SUPERVISOR
This club will be hosted for school-aged children from kindergarten to grade three.
Additional Qualifications:
Current Standard First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Clear Criminal Record Check (required before start).
Required Experience:
- Experience working with children in an educational, recreational, or childcare setting.
- Strong group facilitation and supervision skills.
- Enthusiasm for active play, outdoor activities, and nature-based learning.
- Ability to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for diverse children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate weekly active play sessions that encourage physical activity, cooperation, and fun in nature.
- Supervise and engage a group of elementary school children (approx. 10–20 participants).
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, following NatureKids BC’s child protection and risk management policies.
- Use positive behavior management strategies to support respectful and inclusive play.
- Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and maintain attendance records.
- Report program highlights, challenges, and incidents to NatureKids BC staff.
- Set up and tidy play areas and equipment before and after sessions.
Salary & Benefits:
Hourly wage: $25–$30/hour, depending on experience.

Role Overview
We are seeking two enthusiastic and responsible After School Playgroup Supervisors to lead and oversee an outdoor active play program at McCloskey Elementary School in Delta, BC. This role involves supervising children once a week for 1.5 hours after school, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and fun environment on school grounds and surrounding outdoor areas.

Additional Assets by the Candidate
- Knowledge of child development and trauma-informed approaches.
- Experience with outdoor education, sports, or active play programming.
