On-Call Preschool Support Worker (North and South Delta)
REACH Child and Youth Development Society is currently seeking experienced and confident Preschool Support Workers (PSW) to work on an on-call basis to provide one-on-one support to children with extra support needs in our inclusive preschool in North and/ or South Delta. The Support Worker encourages and assists children to experience new and challenging activities that further develop their experiences and skills. The Support Worker functions as part of the Preschool team to ensure effective inclusion and enable the full participation of children requiring support.
Additional Qualifications:
- Grade 12, plus enrolment in ECE certificate program or completing work experience required for licensing or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Current First Aid Certificate, approved by licensing
- Clear criminal record search
Required Experience:
- Experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum and children with challenging behaviors
- Grade 12, plus enrolment in ECE certificate program or completing work experience required for licensing or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Key Responsibilities:
- Support children with extra support needs to fully participate in the Preschool program
- Assist senior staff in monitoring children during activities
- Attend to the children’s physical needs which may include diapering, toileting eating and sleeping
- Work as a team member to implement children’s activities and provide culturally appropriate daily experiences
- Encourage and model appropriate social interaction with children’s peers
- Under close supervision, conducts activities on an individual and group basis to promote the development of physical, cognitive, emotional and social skills
- Keeps facilities and equipment safe and clean, reporting any concerns to senior staff
- Other duties as required by the Preschool Manager or senior staff
Salary & Benefits:
- $19.40 per hour plus 10.6% vacation and statutory holiday pay added on each pay cheque
