Casual educators work across all our childcare programs from infants to school age.

Skills and Qualifications
- Valid BC Basic Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Education Assistant Certificate required.
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate required.
- Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in licensed childcare.
- Willingness to learn to provide programming based on the principles of the BC Early Learning Framework and the Reggio Emilia Approach.
- Understanding and commitment to creating inclusive spaces.
- Excellent guiding and caring skills
- Understanding of the BC Child Care Licensing Regulation.
- Strong planning, organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent and proficient oral and written communication.
- Passion and commitment for ongoing professional development and growth
- Creativity, critical thinking, flexibility and sense of humour.

You are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and the BC Early Learning Framework. You are interested in learning about evolving philosophies and pedagogies in early childhood care and education, including risky play and decolonizing early childhood spaces. You are developing respectful guiding and caring skills.
You are passionate about creating inclusive early learning spaces and believe children learn best through play. You enjoy being outside with children in all weather, gardening and exploring the community. You are flexible and believe children and educators can create their own rhythm and flows in their day.

About the Position
Under the general guidance of the Early Years Coordinator and Program Leads, the on-call Early Childhood Educators and Early Childhood Educator Assistants provide responsive, caring and high quality programming inspired by the BC Early Learning Framework. Educators nurture strong relationships with the children, families and colleagues, and implement high standards of care and supervision that promote wellbeing of all children.

- Casual/ On-call
- Shifts may vary between 7am to 5:45pm Monday to Friday. Typically 7 hours direct service, 1 hour unpaid break. Shorter shifts for preschool and school age programs.
- Compensation: ECE Certificate Band C2 $22- $23.57 per hour based on experience and qualifications, plus $6 Wage Enhancement. ECEA Certificate Band C1 $21.74-$22.50 depending on level of experience.
- Benefits: 4% in lieu of vacation pay.
- This position works in person at all MPNH Childcare locations.
- This position works some evenings and weekends.
- Start date: as soon as possible.
