Multi-age Program Manager / Artist-teacher
Multiage child care program, with one infant-toddler and 7 preschoolers.
Required Experience:
For this role, we are seeking an ECE or ITE educator with proven experience working independently and without direct supervision. The ideal candidate will have experience and passion for atelier-based work. As we have a large garden space, comfort with gardening is required, a love for gardening is preferred. You must be familiar with the BCELF and comfortable documenting children’s work while working in ratio. While this position does have a part time assistant, this is a primarily independent position at a 1:8 ratio, meaning it is ideal for candidates who take initiative, are highly organized and enjoy building close, positive relationships with families. The candidate must have experience being on-license in a licensed BC child care facility and strong understanding of the BC Child Care regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operating a licensed multi-age program and ensuring the program is licensing-compliant.
Contribute to establishing positive relationships with families.
Deliver program planning and document children's work (shared on our parent app).
Complete program planning on a timely basis.
Supervise the program assistant, including offering mentorship
Supervise practicum students and volunteers / junior leaders
Maintain a clean, organized and welcoming classroom environment at all times
Salary & Benefits:
SSOCC is a fair-pay employer, and our total compensation for this position is: 25.50 - 26.50 plus WE (total 31.50 - 32.50 per hour), based on experience.
Centre hours are 8:00 - 3:30 Mondays and 8:00 - 4:30, Tuesday - Friday. 4 hours per week of administration time out-of-ratio is allocated for this position.

Additional Notes:
This location offers a fully-registered 8 student program (1 toddler, 7 preschoolers). This program is lucky enough to have a large garden space, is across the street from Musquem park and trail, and has a cozy and beautiful indoor classroom that focuses on atelier-based work.
