Infant Toddler Educator (Lead Teacher)
Additional Qualifications:
Must hold a valid Infant & Toddler Certificate; Montessori certification (AMS or AMI) is strongly preferred.
Required Experience:
At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in an Infant/Toddler (0–3 years) setting; prior Head Teacher experience is an asset.

Position Overview
The Head Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality care and education for children aged 10 months to 3 years, while leading classroom operations, supporting teaching staff, and maintaining strong relationships with families. This role requires professionalism, leadership, and a deep understanding of infant and toddler development.
Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate care for children aged 10 months to 3 years in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.

Demonstrate excellent oral and written English communication skills.

Communicate effectively and professionally with children, parents, guardians, and colleagues.

Ensure the classroom is set up promptly, well-organized, clean, and properly maintained at all times.

Maintain a warm, welcoming, and communicative relationship with children and families, fostering trust and collaboration.

Implement positive and respectful child guidance techniques that promote self-esteem, independence, emotional regulation, and mutual respect.

Design, implement, and evaluate curriculum plans aligned with infant and toddler developmental stages and program philosophy.

Utilize prepared Montessori or developmentally appropriate materials and resources to deliver high-quality programs and curriculum experiences.

Observe, document, and assess children’s development, and communicate progress with families as required.

Support and mentor classroom educators, providing guidance and leadership as needed.

Step in to substitute or support other children’s programs when required to ensure smooth daily operations.

Participate in school-wide activities, field trips, special events, and professional development opportunities.

Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and centre policies.

Model professionalism, reliability, and teamwork at all times.

Additional Notes:
· Child First Aid and CPR Certificate, an asset
· Criminal Record Review by the Ministry of Education
· Immunization History
· 3 reference contacts or letters related to the field.
· Experience in the Montessori environment for more than 1 year. (Preferred)
· Excellent planning, organization, and communication skills
· Ability to lead programs solo or with groups of children of varying ages, needs, and abilities.
· Ability to lead programs that are both Montessori and Reggio Emelia.
· Excellent leader with strong communication skills who conducts themselves with professionalism and integrity.
