Daycare Director / Administrator

ABC University Daycare Society is a long-standing non-profit childcare centre serving children 30 months to 5 years old. For over 50 years, we’ve supported families in our community by providing safe, inclusive, play-based early learning and programming.

We are seeking an experienced, highly organized Daycare Director / Administrator to provide financial, administrative, and governance leadership for a licensed non-profit childcare centre. This role focuses on organisational oversight, compliance, and stability; and supporting the Program Manager to deliver daily program operations.

Qualifications: Basic ECE

Additional Qualifications:

  • Valid ECE Qualification highly preferred
  • Clear Criminal Record Check required

Required Experience:

Required:

  • 5+ years experience in non-profit or childcare administration, including at a senior or director level 
  • 5+ years experience managing staff
  • Strong governance and financial oversight skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in licensed childcare settings
  • Familiarity with BC childcare funding and regulation
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic planning and organisational oversight
• Enrollment management and community presence
• Budgeting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable
• Provincial funding applications and grant management
• Board reporting, risk management, and insurance oversight
• Staffing structure, contracts, and policy maintenance
• Facilities oversight including lease and contractors
• Senior-level communication with families and community

 

Reports to: Board of Directors 

Direct Reports: Program Manager

Salary & Benefits:

  • This role has flexibiltiy to be between 20-35 hours per week.
  • Annual salary (prorated to hours): $55,000-$70,000 per year. 
  • Hybrid work location: on-site at the center with flexibility for some remote work
