Early Childhood Educator

We are currently seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to work in our wonderful Preschool
and Kindergarten program located in Vancouver (Kitsilano, Arbutus Ridge area). A successful must be capable and confident leading a classroom in developmentally appropriate, engaging activities based on our Montessori and play-based curriculum. This educator will be working alongside a team of early childhood educators, therefore the ability to work collaboratively is essential. 

Job Type: Full-time
 8:15am - 4:15 pm
 Monday to Friday

Required Experience:

An idea candidate must demonstrate:

• Genuine passion for working with children aged 3-6
• Classroom management, behavioural management and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents
• Ability to adapt and respond to changes using a positive and proactive approach
• Punctuality, reliability and integrity
• Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of child development as well as an aptitude in different learning approaches to early childhood care and education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Planning - Planning themed activities/art work, preparing the classroom with engaging Montessori work 

• Leading Circle Time - Leading children through a 20-30 minute group circle time with calendar/stories/songs/games etc. 

• Directing the Classroom - Ensuring children are safe and involved in daily classroom activities, conducting head counts and regular scans of the classroom, leading children through classroom transitions

• Communication with families - regularly updating families on their child's progress by sharing photos and information on 'Seesaw'
