Additional Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an Early Childhood Education Program and a valid certificate to practice.
- Experince leading and directing staff in a childcare setting
- Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Criminal Record Check
- Declaration of Immunization Status
- Resume and three references
- The physical wellbeing to perform the essential functions of the job.
Required Experience:
- Proven experience as an Early Childhood Educator.
- Excellent understanding of principles of child development and early childhood educational methods
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ, actively involved in their local church, who seeks to serve Jesus in every aspect of life.
- Able to teach basic Christian concepts as revealed in the Bible
- Strong communication and instructional skills
- Personality, ability and temperament to work with children and maintain a supportive and caring environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to respect cultural differences valued and practiced by attending families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administration – Oversee all aspects of the day to day operation of the Beehive including record keeping, attendance and staffing.
- Communication – Communicate with families on an as-needed day to day basis. Ensures communication tools are up-to-date including the Beehive website and Family Handbook. Reports any operating concerns to the Beehive Committee and prepares monthly progress report.
- Program Implementation – Plan and implement long-range goals, weekly lessons and themed units. Assess each child’s development and respond to individual needs. Promote teamwork among staff and volunteers and build partnerships with parents.
- Financial Management - Maintain registrations and communicate with Bookkeeper all financial aspects of day to day operations.
- Facilities Supplies and Equipment –Ensure all equipment is well-maintained and supplies are adequate.
- Regulatory Requirements – Liaise with Ministry of Education and Licensors.
- Health and Safety - Ensure all health and safety protocols are implemented and all regulatory requirements are fulfilled.
- Liaison - Act in an advisory capacity to the Beehive Committee and collaborate with the church pastoral team.
Salary & Benefits:
The salary range is $270 - $330 per daily session, based on level of education and experience, plus the Wage Enhancement of $6.00 per hour.
