School Age Care Educator

Required Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of experience working with children in a licensed or recreation setting.
• 20 hours or Responsible Adult Training or equivalent as required by BC Childcare Licensing.
• ECE and Special Needs ECE an asset.
• Valid First Aid & Food Safe.
• Clear Criminal Record and immunization record upon hire required.
• Knowledge of the 2019 BC Early Learning Frameworks and inclusive practice.
• Sound knowledge of BC Childcare Licensing Regulations and child development.
• Passion in working with school age children.
• Experience working with children with varying abilities in a diverse and inclusive setting.
• Strong interpersonal, team work and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be a part of a team that provides positive guidance and care for children ages 5-12 in a licensed before and after school care setting.
• Evaluate, plan, and implement indoor and outdoor activities that are based on the children’s needs and interests.
• Responsible for daily set up and clean up the program and snack prepartion.
• Follow through with SVNH policies and procedures and BC Childcare Licensing Regulations.

Salary & Benefits:

• Schedule: Monday to Friday. 27.5hrs per week for 7:15 to 9:15am & 2:30 – 6:00pm shifts. 17.5hrs per week for 2:30 to 6pm shift. Additional hours on early dismissals, professional and district closure days, and school breaks. 
• Salary:  $22.77 per hour plus $6/hr ECE Wage Enhancement (if eligible)
• Job Type: Regular part-time
