School Age Care Educator
Required Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children in a licensed or recreation setting.
- 20 hours or Responsible Adult Training or equivalent as required by BC Childcare Licensing.
- ECE and Special Needs ECE an asset.
- Valid First Aid & Food Safe.
- Clear Criminal Record and immunization record upon hire required.
- Knowledge of the 2019 BC Early Learning Frameworks and inclusive practice.
- Sound knowledge of BC Childcare Licensing Regulations and child development.
- Passion in working with school age children.
- Experience working with children with varying abilities in a diverse and inclusive setting.
- Strong interpersonal, team work and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be a part of a team that provides positive guidance and care for children ages 5-12 in a licensed before and after school care setting.
- Evaluate, plan, and implement indoor and outdoor activities that are based on the children’s needs and interests.
- Responsible for daily set up and clean up the program and snack prepartion.
- Follow through with SVNH policies and procedures and BC Childcare Licensing Regulations.
Salary & Benefits:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday. 27.5hrs per week for 7:15 to 9:15am & 2:30 – 6:00pm shifts. 17.5hrs per week for 2:30 to 6pm shift. Additional hours on early dismissals, professional and district closure days, and school breaks.
- Salary: $22.77 per hour plus $6/hr ECE Wage Enhancement (if eligible)
- Job Type: Regular part-time
