Full Time Permanent ECE Educator

Required Experience:

Minimum one year experience working in a licenced group 3-5 year old child care program. 

Ability to create and lead developmentally appropriate programming and experiences for children aged 3-5 years old. 

Experience in supervising and leading a group of 8 children. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow all McGregor policies, Licensing and legal requirements.
• Supervise and create positive interactions directly with the children.
• Provide quality care and creative, developmentally appropriate programming.
• Establish and maintain positive daily communication and interactions with children, families and staff.
• Arrange the physical set up of the centre and maintain a neat, orderly and clean environment.
• Ensure all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the centre, children, families and staff.
• Establish clear, consistent and simple expectations and limits with children.
• Work with reasonable autonomy and independence in arranging materials and ideas for the children, under the direction of the Program Supervisor.
• Complete all required daily shift duties with efficiency.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings as necessary.
• Arrange for shift coverage when unable to work a scheduled shift.
• Work cooperatively as a member of a team in a professional and respectful manner.
• Preform other duties as directed.

Salary & Benefits:

Starting at $23.87-$25.72 per hour.  Additionally this position is intitled to the Goverment of BC Early childhood Educator Wage Enhancement program.  Benefits include, Medical, Dental & Pension.

McGregor Child Care has been servicing Vancouver Community College (VCC) and the community since 1972.  McGregor operates two Licenced Child Care programs, an Infant/Toddler and a 3-5 program.  McGregor operates in a dedicated purpose built child care space at VCC Broadway Campus.

McGregor Child Care is currently looking for a Full-Time Permanent ECE Educator for our 3-5 Year Old Program. 

Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the ECE Educator provides direct supports to the staff, families and children.  The ECE Educator is accountable for ensuring all day to day operations are met; including operating within licencing and legal requirements, completing scheduled shift duties, positive supervision and guiding of children, and providing activities to the children in one-on-one and group setting.
