Additional Qualifications:
In addition to being a wonderful and positive person & team player, you must have:
- ECE basic | ECE Infant / Toddler &/or Special Needs Certification
- Childcare First Aid and Food Safe Level 1
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication
- Strong knowledge and awareness of:
- Emergent curriculum and the BC Early Learning Framework
- Developmental needs of children
- Family engagement strategies and parenting issues and needs
- Guiding and caring strategies
- Knowledge of broader childcare field and its role in the community
Required Experience:
Additional skills and experiences may include:
- Childcare experience working in an inclusive childcare setting
- Second Language
Key Responsibilities:
Report to:
The Early Childhood Educator reports to the Program Manager.
Here’s how you will make a positive impact on a day-to-day basis:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate activities and experiences to meet individual and group needs of all children and families of a childcare program.
- Guide and care for a group of children ages 3 months to 3 to 5 years old
- Encourage learning and develop positive self-concepts for children
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment for children
- Maintain effective and cooperative teamwork and communication
- Maintain positive and supportive relationships with parents and families
Salary & Benefits:
Terms of Employment:
- Salary: $27.85 to $28.74 per hour plus employer-paid health and welfare benefits. In addition, you may be eligible for a $6 per hour Provincial ECE Wage Enhancement.
