Early Childhood Educator with Class 4

The PACE Program is looking for a creative and flexible individual to join our supportive and skilled professional team.  This is a permanent part-time opportunity for an Early Childhood Educator to work within a team to provide support to young children who demonstrate emotional and/or behavioural challenges. The successful individual will have a Class 4 License with a clean driving record and at least 5 years of experience working with preschool-aged children.

 

The Family Program is a unique, innovative program, with a high ratio of teachers to children, offering a supportive environment to work intensively with both the child and their family, developing social/emotional skills and attachments.  The program works in partnership with the child’s family, caregivers, and other professionals, to establish goals and a plan based on strengths and needs. This position includes supporting the children to and from the program in our 15-seat passenger van, with another team member.

Qualifications: Basic ECE

Additional Qualifications:

  • ECE qualifications required
  • Class 4 Driver’s license essential or willingness to obtain before start date
  • Clean Driving Abstract (5 years, no concerning infractions)
  • Valid First Aid  - Emergency Child Care & CPR B
  • Clear Criminal Record for Vulnerable Sector

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in ECE field
  • Past work in a variety of childcare settings preferred
  • Experience supporting families an asset
  • Leadership skills an asset
  • An interest in learning and professional growth
  • An appreciation for working within a team

Key Responsibilities:

Direct work with preschool aged children

Set up classroom 

Driving 15 passenger van

 

 

 

 

Salary & Benefits:

  • 18 hours per week over 3 days (mornings with some afternoon meetings) with possibility of more hours
  • Competitive wage & benefits, starting at $2733/month
