School Age Child Care Worker
Qualifications and Skills:

Passionate about working with school age children
-
Minimum one-year experience working with school-age children
-
Hold 20 hours of Responsible Adult Training as required by BC Childcare Licensing
-
Knowledge of the 2019 BC Early Learning Frameworks and inclusive practice an asset
-
Hold a valid First Aid, Food Safe, clear Criminal Record and an immunization record.

Knowledge of BC Childcare Licensing Regulations and child development.

Experience working with children with varying abilities in a diverse and inclusive setting.

Able to work in a team setting and experienced in working in a multi-cultural environment

Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Plan and implement age-appropriate activities across all curriculum areas

Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children

Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff

Assist with daily routines such as nutrition breaks, transitions and site cleanliness

Support children's emotional and social development

Maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment
Salary & Benefits:
Rate of Pay: $21.74 for Responsible Adult to $23.57 depending upon qualifications; (plus $6 BC Government Wage Enhancement for staff with their ECE qualifications). Benefits package included.
Employment Terms:

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 2:30-6:00pm (18hrs/week) OR 7:30-9:00am AND 2:30-6:00pm (25.5hrs/week); occasional additional hours for meeting and professional development

Program Hours: Regular school days are 7:30am to 9:00am and 2:30pm-6:00pm. School closure days, including winter, spring and summer breaks, are 7:30am-6:00pm.

Wage: hourly rate of $21.33- $22.85/hr (ANHBC Wage Grid C2 Step 1-3 dependent on skills and experience) plus $6/hr Wage Enhancement for eligible Early Childhood Educators
