5 Thursday evenings from July 4, 11, 18, 25 and August 1, 2019.
Participants must attend all 5 sessions to get a certificate.
This course explains the neuroscience and neuropsychology of emotion, the differences between types of affect, and how several researched methods can be modelled and used for regulation. The discussion will centre on how educators can model, create, and teach positive affect to improve a child’s overall well-being and learning.
Objectives:
- Explore the neuroscience and neuropsychology of the function of emotion.
- Discuss emotion regulation and health.
- Learn strategies and skills to create better emotion regulation.
- Recognize strategies on modelling, creating and teaching positive affect on children.
Suitable for students, parents, adult instructors/administrators, novice, intermediate and experienced early care and learning professionals working with children of all ages, from infant/toddlers to school-age children, including children with extra support needs.
