From rainy-day puddle jumping to sunny afternoon play outside, we believe the best classroom has no walls. We spend a significant amount of time outdoors in all weather conditions. We regularly venture off-site to explore our beautiful local community, spending our mornings and afternoons at John Hendry Park (Trout Lake) and Copley Orchard.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a confident, high-energy, and experienced ECE with a strong work ethic to join our small team. You will be working directly alongside another passionate ECE (who is also the daycare manager) to co-navigate the daily operations, planning, and outdoor adventures for a wonderful group of 8 children.

Additional Qualifications:

Valid British Columbia ECE License to Practice (Required).

Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an ECE in multi-age care.

Current First Aid for child care

Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date.

Food Safe Level 1 (will pay for training if missing)

All Weather Attitude: A genuine love for the outdoors and total comfort being outside in all West Coast weather (rain, snow, or shine!).

Attributes: The successful candidate is dynamic, energetic, has a strong work ethic and is highly confident leading groups of children safely through public parks and urban nature spaces in all weather.
Required Experience:
- 4+ years expereince working with children 2.5 - 5 years old.
- Confident and capapble of leading small group of children on and off site.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather.
- Having home daycare experience is an asset
Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum & Care: Co-plan and implement an emergent, play-based curriculum that responds to the children's evolving interests.

Outdoor Exploration: Confidently lead and supervise off-site excursions to Trout Lake and Copley Orchard, rain or shine.

Team Player: You are a strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative, co-teaching dynamic. Partner effectively with the ECE Manager to maintain a safe, joyful, and supportive environment.

Environment Stewardship: Take pride in our space by participating in daily cleaning, sanitizing, and light maintenance to ensure a safe, licensed environment.
Salary & Benefits:
Starting at $25-27 per hour for a probationary period of three months, after which increases will be from $27 to $32 per hour with extended health/dental benefits. Hourly wage will depend upon experience. These wages include Wage Enhancement.
Additional Notes:
This position is Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
We have a lovely ratio of 4:1, 2 educators for 8 children during core hours. With the exception of admin days when the manager steps off the floor. In the afternoon (3:30 pm - 5:00pm) the successful candidate will work on their own with 8 children.
