Westcoast workshops and courses support the implementation of the BC Early Learning Framework, Schedule G of the BC Child Care Licensing Regulation and the Early Childhood Educators of BC Code of Ethics.
Westcoast is a member of the BC Early Years Professional Development Hub.

Storytelling from the Heart of Africa

Using everyday life experiences, during this workshop we will reflect on how storytelling can bring benefits to children’s learning and explore how storytelling from different parts of the world brings experiences alive, creating a sense of connection, kindness and sharing.

This workshop will consider the benefits and challenges of outdoor play, and questions such as: How can you and your colleagues conduct risk assessment of private and public outdoor spaces and understand your own boundaries around risky and adventurous play? Come and explore how to develop your own process of reflection to guide you in choosing and creating play spaces, planning around extreme weather, and preparing to do dynamic risk assessment in changing environments.

Administration & Management for Child Care
We are excited to announce the launch of our new Administration & Management for Child Care course - a comprehensive online training program that explores all aspects of leadership development.
Our online course is delivered and guided by expert instructors with years of experience in child care and has been especially designed to support and strengthen innovative practices in leadership. Each e-learning module features fully interactive content including training videos, reflection opportunities, quizzes, live Zoom sessions, group work and a whole Knowledge Base of resources including templates and sample forms.
To support the Administration & Management for Child Care course, we have also created the Administration & Management for Child Care Knowledge Base - a comprehensive online information database for ECE leaders, with detailed guidance on all areas of child care leadership.
