Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House is looking for caring, passionate and flexible individuals to join our dynamic childcare team, to work with children aged 5-12 in our off site Lord Nelson School Age program. Our childcare team is passionate and inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach and we apply its principles and values in concert with the values of FHNH. We are part of Frog Hollow’s integrated “Reggio-Inspired Learning Centre” (www.reggiolearning.ca/) with amazing opportunities for professional development and for collaborative efforts with other educators and with the community as a whole. As a member of the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of BC (ANHBC), FHNH is recognized for our innovative and inclusive approach in working with staff, volunteers and community.
The School Age Educator is responsible for the provision of quality care and education to children in our off site Lord Nelson School Age program. We are an inclusive, multicultural, dynamic and collaborative child care setting which includes working with the other educators to plan and implement a progressive and an innovative program inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. Other responsibilities include developing strong relationships and communication with children, families and colleagues, and implementing high standards of care and supervision that promote the well being of all children.
Salary & Benefits:
$19.13/hr plus 3 weeks’ vacation in first year, paid sick time, employer pays 50% of Medical,
EH, Dental plus excellent Pension Plan after 1 year
Please note: If you hold an ECE Assistant license or ECE license there will be opportunities to pick up additional hours in our 0-5 programs also located at Lord Nelson (The Village).
