Nest Early Learning is a full-day childcare program that helps preschoolers
develop into their best selves through attachment theory.  We are strong advocates of the Attachment Based Developmental and Emergent Curriculum approaches.  We are seeking candidates who are willing to learn or have experience with either or both of these philosophies of care.

Our Goal: To help preschoolers develop into their full potential by providing a nurturing
environment that they are comfortable calling their second home.

Qualifications Basic ECE

Additional Qualifications:

  • Three character references
  • Holds a valid childcare first-aid certificate
  • Has a clear criminal record check
  • Evidence that the applicant has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs

Required Experience:

Our ideal candidate:

  • has a genuine care for the emotional, social, and cognitive needs of every child
  • is team oriented, respectful and has a good work ethic
  • is comfortable speaking with guardians on a daily basis
  • has a working knowledge of the Emergent Curriculum teaching philosophy
  • believes in the benefits of attachment theory
  • has two years of group childcare experience 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Once trained, you will practice an attachment based approach to childcare
  • Assess interests and developmental needs of children. Discuss progress with team members and guardians
  • Become familiar with our staff handbook. Understand our policies and procedures
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with community service providers working with children
  • Prepare snacks, arrange room for lunch and rest periods
  • Discuss progress of children at staff meetings
  • Maintain daycare equipment, assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
  • Supervise assistants, aides, volunteers in classroom
  • Housekeeping duties

Salary & Benefits:

  • $21 per hour + $1 per hour wage enhancement
