Additional Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have Early Childhood Education certification as well as experience working in a child care facility.  Special Needs certification is required to this position and Infant Toddler certification is preferred and would be an asset.  Speaking a second language would be an asset. Individuals will be team players interested in maintaining a positive, professional, and supportive learning environment. A criminal record check will be required and references will be contacted.

Successful applicants are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, exemption requests must be supported by valid, legal documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Charting all information (re child's day);
  • Updating as to where each child is, who needs what
  • Greet all parents and children when they arrive;
  • Know and follow each child's individual schedule;
  • Give and receive information to other staff members, to/from parents;
  • Housekeeping and Laundry
  • Environmental set-up;
  • Program planning, implementation and evaluation;
  • Working with children in both programs at the centre, 0-3yrs and 3-5yrs
  • Monitor and assess children's health;
  • Monitor daily intake of food and liquids;
  • Written developmental reports on the children (for staff reference and parent interest)
  • As required, working one on one with a child referred by Supported Child Development
  •  Attend meetings and liaise with Supported Child Development and Behaviour Consultants and other service providers as required;
  • Implement and follow guidance provided by service providers, such as Speech and language therapist, Occupational therapist, Physiotherapist, Supported Child Development and Behavioural consultants and other providers as needed

Salary & Benefits:

Starting at $21.56 per hour + wage enhancement for qualified ECEs. Benefits also include paid time off, defined benefit pension plan and health benefits including extended health and dental, Health & Fitness Centre Membership and more.
