Infant and Toddler Childcare Educator

Required Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare program with children ages 0-3 yrs
• Valid Infant/Toddler Early Childhood Educator License issued by BC ECE Registry.
• Special Needs ECE an asset
• First Aid and CPR  & AED certificate required (to be obtained within 30 days after the start date) 
• Clear CRC upon hire
• Good knowledge and awareness of BC ELF and Montessori-inspired practice
• Good knowledge and understanding of child development
• Effective guiding and caring skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills 
• Second language an asset
• Any training related to child growth and development is an asset 
• Creative, open minded and team oriented

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide quality care and creative programming directly to the children ages 0-3 years
• Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of children
• Guide and assist children in the development of daily care routines
• Build meaningful and positive relationships with children and families  
• Work with your team to create a supportive and safe environment for both staff and families
• Create a nurturing environment by maintaining active supervision at all times and working closely with teammates to support children through smooth, positive transitions between play areas
• Support the program by ensuring classrooms and equipment remain clean, safe, and ready for children’s exploration

Salary & Benefits:

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 30-40hrs/week between the hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm
• Wage: $24-$25/hour plus $6 MCFD Wage Enhancement for those who qualify
