During 2020-2021 we relied on educators’ dedication to sustain safe and joyful spaces for children despite ever-changing safety protocols brought about by the pandemic. Educators continued to seek support for professional development throughout unpredictable circumstances to discover deeper connections, new ideas, perspectives, and questions. This report reveals that financial support for educators to engage in professional learning significantly impacts them both personally and professionally. The voices of educators expressed in this report illustrate that they are committed to sustaining their curiosity and willingness to wonder even during challenging times.
Please join us in congratulating Pam Preston, Executive Director at Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre (WCCRC), on the announcement of her upcoming retirement in the spring of 2022. Pam’s retirement will bring to a close a remarkable career. She began working at WCCRC in 1990 as the Coordinator of the Information Daycare program and after a number of other positions and responsibilities within the agency became its Executive Director in 2012.

Nadia discusses her experience as an immigrant to Canada and why support and representation for families from diverse backgrounds is so important in the Early Childhood sector.
Nadia's upcoming workshop will explore how Educators can bridge professional silos, address systemic racism and uphold diversity in empowering and inclusive ways.
