The most sought-after candidates will have both their Early Childhood Educator and Infant Toddler License to Practice and will have or be working towards a degree in Early Childhood Care and Education.

Required Experience:

We are seeking a part-time Early Childhood Educator who is passionate, creative, intentional, and reflective in their work with children. We seek educators who are experienced and dedicated to pedagogical narration as practice. Working closely with researchers and with other educators on the SFUCCS team requires an ability to be flexible, vulnerable, open to critique, appreciative of the value of co-construction, and welcoming of the multiple perspectives of children, families, and professionals. We seek educators who are eager to grow in their practice as learners, educators, facilitators, early childhood professionals, and overall advocates for children, families, and the profession of Early Childhood Care and Education.

We seek candidates who have a commitment to reflective work with children, an eagerness to collaborate with other educators and researchers, and a commitment to ongoing professional development and growth. Candidates will also have a dedication to inclusive practice, a disposition towards research and inquiry, and a strong understanding of the British Columbia Early Learning Framework.

Salary & Benefits:

Starting salary for Early Childhood Educators is $19.57 per hour (plus an additional $1/hour for licensed ECE’s as per the ECE Wage Enhancement Initiative. Additional Notes:

Employees who are chosen will be expected to attend SFU Childcare Society's in-house training. SFU Childcare staff are members of the BCGEU.
