Do you have the following skills & experience?
Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline. Over ten years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Superior leadership, management and operational skills are essential.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain high-quality and productive relationships, including those requiring substantial intercultural understanding.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact with empathy, understanding, and also to respect diverse perspectives and behaviours.
Early Childhood Education training from a recognized training institution is an asset.
Experience regarding budgeting, corporate or charitable fund-raising, and working within a unionized environment are also all assets.
The Director's role is to ensure long-term sustainability of child care at UBC by providing overall strategic direction and operations management. Responsibilities include developing policies and procedures, overseeing the management of Child Care Services staff teams and centre facilities, managing the financial stability of CCS and the relationship between CCS and the larger UBC community. This position operates with considerable autonomy in overseeing the day-to-day operations of UBC Child Care Service child care centres.

UBC Child Care Services (CCS) is responsible for providing exceptional child care service to student, faculty, and staff families within the university community. We pride ourselves in having a warm and supportive culture in all child care facilities on campus. As the largest campus-operated child care in North America, the department provides child care services to over 650 children per year, employs 250 employees and operates 36 licenses at 30 child care facilities on the Vancouver campus.
